Residents of Kahoko Parish in Nyakagyeme Sub County have called on their area’s Member of Parliament, Hon. Maj. Gen. Jim Muhwezi, who also serves as the Minister of Security, to lobby for a health center in their area to improve access to health services. This request was made during a meeting this afternoon at the Nyakagyeme Sub County headquarters, where Minister Muhwezi welcomed over 300 individuals, including FDC flag bearers and village chairpersons, who were joining the NRM party from various political parties, especially FDC.

Henry Mugarura, who contested for the position of parish councilor for Kahoko Parish on an FDC ticket but lost, highlighted the long distances residents must trek to access health facilities. He emphasized the need for a local health center to address this issue.

Emmy Ngabirano, the RDC Masindi and a resident of Kabwooma Parish in Nyakagyeme Sub County thanked the defectors for joining the NRM party and encouraged them to mobilize more supporters to secure a landslide victory in the upcoming elections. He also urged Minister Muhwezi to expedite the process of lobbying for the tarmac road from Kinyasano via Kasoroza to Rwerere to Bugangari, which would facilitate transportation for the people of Rujumbura.

In response to the residents’ concerns, Minister Muhwezi assured that the issue of electricity would be addressed soon, as the Minister of Energy is scheduled to visit Rukungiri in September. Regarding the request for a health center in Kahoko Parish, he promised to follow up on the matter.
