Kisoro Assistant RDC Hagumimana Valence has issued a warning against individuals misusing his authority as a Mufumbira. He cautioned that such actions could pose a security threat to the public and hinder their access to assistance from the RDC office.
Valence made these remarks during a security meeting held Wednesday in Karumene Village, Central Division, Kisoro Municipality.
Addressing the public on security issues, he specifically warned LC1 chairpersons against overstepping their authority and misusing their stamps for money lending activities, which he noted has become a security threat to residents.
He urged the public to collaborate closely with security personnel to help combat crime in Kisoro District.
Karumene Village LC1 chairperson Daudi Line, speaking to the gathering, criticized residents for not attending organized meetings. He stated that this neglect also threatens community security and called on the RDC office to take action against criminals, noting that many crimes are committed by their children.
Meanwhile, Central Division Town Clerk Mfitundinda Angelo, during the meeting, urged the public and local leaders to report suspicious individuals in their community. He emphasized that such actions would support security efforts in apprehending criminals.
