Jonathan Kirasha, a revered businessman, was laid to rest on Thursday in Nyamishenyi village, Kandago Parish, Bukinda Sub County, Rukiga District. Kirasha, renowned for his business savvy, passed away on Monday morning at Platinum Hospital in Kampala due to multiple organ failure at the age of 77. He is survived by two wives, 17 children, 32 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
During the solemn burial rites, the Rt Rev Gaddie Akanjuna, Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi, emphasized the enduring significance of cherished values such as respect, integrity, and faith within families. He lauded the life of Mzee Jonathan Kirasha as a prime exemplar of these virtues.
Bishop Akanjuna fervently urged the assembled mourners to contemplate the repercussions of their actions on their loved ones, highlighting the indispensable qualities of integrity and reliability, particularly in business transactions.
He reminded mourners that despite life’s inevitable vicissitudes, God remains a steadfast source of guidance and protection. He encouraged them to seek solace and fortitude in their faith, especially during the most challenging times.
