President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has underscored the pivotal role of parents in fostering the development of their children into responsible members of society.

This clarion call was made Wednesday during the funeral service of David Kabariga, who served as the guardian of Brenda Kiconco, Assistant Private Secretary to the President on Youth Affairs, and Secretary for Female Affairs at the National Youth Council Uganda. The burial ceremony, presided over by Bishop Gaddie Akanjuna of the Diocese of Kigezi, was held at St. Luke Butobere Church of Uganda parish in the Central Division of Kabale Municipality.

In representation of President Museveni, Honorable Catheline Atwakiire Ndamira, Kabale District Woman Member of Parliament, conveyed a message of condolences, along with a donation of 10 million shillings. The President lauded the deceased for his effective upbringing of his children, instilling in them a strong work ethic. Honorable Atwakiire encouraged Kabariga’s children to uphold values such as love, unity, and respect for their mother.

During his sermon, Bishop Akanjuna stressed the significance of mutual love among Christians for the well-being of their families.

David Kabariga succumbed to illness and was laid to rest at his residence in Nyakahita cell, Central Division, Kabale Municipality.

Survived by his wife, eight children, ten grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren, David Kabariga leaves behind a legacy of familial affection and industriousness.
