Police in Rukungiri, led by SSP Musa Tibakirana, have suspended the planned consultation meeting of Boona Bageigahare scheduled for Thursday 25th April 2024.
The meeting was supposed to be held at New Palm Royal Hotel in Rukungiri Municipality. Peace Rugambwa, the project coordinator in southwestern Uganda, received a call from the DPC Rukungiri district on Wednesday evening, advising her against entering the district or organizing any gatherings.
Rugambwa expressed her dismay at this sudden development but urged her supporters to remain united while awaiting intervention from the president.
Attempts to reach Rukungiri district police commander SSP Musa Tibakirana for comment were unsuccessful as he did not respond to repeated calls at the time of reporting this story.
