Police in Kabale district have launched investigations into the suspected murder of a 30-year-old man, Mugisha Remegio, also known as Katoote, a resident of Nyakatojo cell, Kanjobe parish in Kyanamira sub-county.
Mugisha’s lifeless body was discovered early Sunday morning lying along the road to Burambira in Kaharo sub-county, with a deep stab wound on his neck. Authorities suspect foul play.
According to ASP Elly Maate, the Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson, the incident was reported to Kyanamira Police Station by the area chairperson, Alex Bakesigaki. Police visited and documented the scene before transporting the body to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital for a postmortem.
ASP Maate has appealed to the public to share any information that may lead to the arrest of the perpetrators, saying, “Inquiries are ongoing, and anyone with useful information is urged to come forward so that those responsible are brought to justice.”
Investigations continue.
