Police in Bushenyi District are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic murder of a 20-year-old man.
The incident occurred at an unspecified time and date in Rutooma C Kitwe ward, Kyabugimbi Town Council, within Bushenyi District.
Marcial Tumusiime, the spokesperson for the Greater Bushenyi Police, has confirmed the incident. The victim has been identified as Stuart Akankwasa, aged 20, described as a peasant residing at the mentioned address.
According to reports, Akankwasa left his home on the 18th of March 2024 around 6:00 PM but did not return until the 19th of March 2024, approximately at 4:30 PM, when his body was discovered. His body was found unclothed and abandoned in his farm.
David Tumwesigye, aged 49, another resident of Rutooma C Kitwe ward, Kyabugimbi Town Council, who reported the case to the police, mentioned that the victim’s clothing was found discarded in a water well approximately 200 meters from the body.
Tumusiime further stated that the victim’s body was discovered lying naked in a supine position with wounds on the head and signs of torture. The body has been transported to Kyabugimbi Health Center IV, awaiting a postmortem examination.
