Rubanda district police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of an unidentified man whose body was discovered on October 2, 2024, along the Kabale-Kisoro road in Kamuterere village, Kakore parish, Hamurwa sub-county.

The deceased, believed to be between 30 and 40 years old, was found wearing old white canvas shoes, black trousers, and a black jacket.

The man, described as having a beard and a gap in his upper jaw, remains unidentified. According to reports, a boda boda rider from Hakakondogoro stage spotted the body at around 7:30 a.m. and promptly notified the police.

Authorities visited the scene, documented the findings, and transported the body to Kabale Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination. Police are urging anyone with a missing relative to visit Kabale Hospital mortuary to identify the deceased and arrange for a proper burial.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing. ASP Elly Maate, the Kigezi Regional Police spokesperson, confirmed the investigation is in progress.
