The Territorial Police in Kabale have launched a thorough investigation into the tragic death of 57-year-old Mwerinde Broad, a resident of Murambo village, Buranga Parish, Kamuganguzi Sub County, Kabale District. His lifeless body was discovered lying on a bed in one of the rooms of his house on the morning of July 1, 2025.
According to preliminary reports, the deceased is believed to have been attacked and beaten to death by unknown assailants during the night of June 30, 2025. The discovery was made by Birungi Patrick Paddy, who had gone to check on the victim early in the morning around 8:30 a.m. Birungi immediately informed the deceased’s relatives, and the Chairperson LC I of the area, Jackline Mbangirwoha, formally reported the matter to Kamuganguzi Police Station.
A team of detectives from Kabale Central Police Station swiftly responded to the scene, documented the evidence, and transported the body to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital for postmortem examination.
In a significant step forward, two individuals have been arrested to aid ongoing investigations. Their identities remain undisclosed to protect the integrity of the case.
Kigezi Regional Police spokesperson ASP Elly Maate confirmed the incident and assured the public that inquiries are underway to bring those responsible to justice.
