Police in Mitooma District are searching for suspects involved in the murder of a 70-year-old man for unknown reasons.
The incident occurred on the night of September 2, 2024, at an unknown time in Mubanda Village, Kyanzire Parish, Kashenshero Sub-county, Mitooma District.
Marcial Tumusiime, the Greater Bushenyi police spokesperson, confirmed the incident and identified the deceased as Pulunari Magezi, an 80-year-old resident of the aforementioned address.
It is alleged that on September 2, 2024, at around 4:00 PM, the deceased left Karehe Village to go to Mubanda Trading Centre but never returned. On September 3, 2024, his body was discovered lying along the road at Mubanda Trading Centre.
David Besigye, 64, who reported the case to the police, stated that the deceased had a swollen head and minor injuries on his back.
Tumusiime said the body was taken to Mitooma Health Centre IV mortuary for a postmortem as inquiries into the matter are ongoing.
