Police in Isingiro District is holding Kutaayo Ssebagara aged 18years resident of Kakunyu cell Rwekuubo ward Isingiro Town Council for being found in possession of suspected stolen goats in motor vehicle registration number UBD 345E Toyota Premio grey in colour.
According to reports, while on duty at Kahirimbi along the Isingiro Bukanga area, police officers signaled a grey Toyota Premio with the registration number UBD 345E to stop. However, the driver refused to comply and sped off at a dangerously speed towards Kityaza. Due to the suspicious behavior of the driver, the police initiated a pursuit.
The vehicle eventually turned onto Mbaare Buganga Road and reached Mbaare Trading Center. There, the driver and two male passengers abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. The police continued their pursuit and successfully apprehended one of the suspects.
A search of the motor vehicle revealed that it was carrying nine goats, which are suspected to be stolen. Additionally, it was discovered that the vehicle had been involved in a previous traffic accident, and this aspect is also under investigation.
The impounded vehicle is currently parked at Isingiro Central Police Station (CPS), and the goats are being exhibited, awaiting possible identification by their owner.
The police are actively working to track down the other two suspects who remain at large.
