In a demonstration of commitment and community solidarity, the People’s Front for Freedom (PFF) Rukungiri chapter has delivered four tipper trucks of sand to support the construction of the North Kigezi Diocese cathedral. The gesture fulfills part of a pledge made by Dr. Kiiza Besigye during the Bishop’s 2nd anniversary celebrations held on 27th April 2025.
Despite Dr. Besigye’s current incarceration, PFF members ensured the promise was honored, with only three more forwards remaining to complete the pledge. The contribution was hailed as a testament to unity, faith, and the spirit of giving.
Betty Bamukwasa Muzanira, PFF promoter and former Rukungiri District Woman MP, expressed gratitude to God for enabling the fulfillment of the pledge. She emphasized the need for love and hard work within families and communities. Muzanira also applauded Bishop Onesmus Asiimwe for his inspirational leadership and continuous prayers for Dr. Besigye and others facing challenges.
Aloysius Mugarura, chairman of PFF Rukungiri, reaffirmed the group’s determination to continue supporting the cathedral project. He praised Bishop Asiimwe for his inclusive love and compassion, especially his visit to Dr. Besigye in prison, which he described as a powerful act of unity.
Representing the North Kigezi Diocese, Acting Diocesan Secretary Michael Mukyiza thanked the PFF and Dr. Besigye for their unwavering support. He assured the faithful that giving to God brings abundant blessings and encouraged all to keep the spirit of generosity alive.
