Ugandans have been urged to uphold unity and shun individualism within political parties to ensure continuity and sustainable development. The call was made by Hon. Roland Kaginda, the former Member of Parliament for Rukungiri Municipality and Chairperson for Western Uganda in the newly formed People’s Front for Freedom (PFF), during the launch of the party’s membership cards at Rozera Gardens, Southern Division, Rukungiri Municipality.

According to Kaginda, prioritizing individuals over party ideals weakens political structures and hinders progress. He emphasized the need for cooperation among candidates to build a strong and successful party ahead of the forthcoming elections.

Also in attendance was Hon. Betty Muzanira, the former Woman MP for Rukungiri District, who used the platform to criticize the current government for the continued detention of Dr. Col. Kiiza Besigye, whom she described as innocent. Muzanira further expressed concern over poor service delivery in the country, especially in the health sector, and condemned the existing salary disparities between science and arts teachers. She urged Ugandans to elect leaders who are committed to delivering services rather than serving personal interests.

Speaking at the same event, Hon. Fred Turyamuhweza, the aspiring Member of Parliament for Rujumbura Constituency, highlighted the core objectives of the PFF as returning power to the people, fostering equality among citizens, and ensuring efficient service delivery. He encouraged members to uphold the party’s constitution and work collectively to achieve its vision.

The launch was also graced by other political leaders, including Aloysius Mugarura, Chairperson of PFF in Rukungiri District, and the Deputy Mayor of Rukungiri Municipality. A large turnout of Ugandans witnessed the event and pledged to support the party’s growth down to the village level. Each membership card was sold at five thousand shillings to raise funds for the development of the new political party.
