Ms. Ingrid Turinawe Kamateneki, the National Coordinator for the People’s Front for Freedom, a new faction of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Katonga, has called on supporters to promote the party’s newly confirmed colors and symbols for public awareness.
She made this appeal on Tuesday, 15th October 2024, during her address while presiding over the launch of a signature collection drive for the party’s registration at the FDC offices along Rubabo Road, Rukungiri Municipality.
The launch attracted Sub County Coordinators who had earlier been trained on the procedures for collecting signatures and retrieving voter numbers using their phones. They received registers and signed in support of the rebranding of the FDC Katonga Faction.
The decision to rebrand the FDC Katonga Faction was made during the National Delegates Conference on 19th August 2024. It was approved by the Electoral Commission, allowing them to collect the necessary authorization signatures.
Ms. Ingrid Turinawe Kamateneki expressed her appreciation to the supporters for turning up in large numbers. She encouraged them to promote the new party uniform, featuring royal blue and white colors, as well as the symbol of a phone-call salute, to raise public awareness.
Hon. Betty Muzanira, former Rukungiri District Member of Parliament, commended the remarkable turnout and highlighted the people’s enthusiasm for registering the party, emphasizing the strong desire to reignite the FDC’s momentum.
Caleb Musimenta, the Rukungiri District FDC administrator, expressed confidence in the ongoing registration process and praised the party’s leadership, which he believes is capable of delivering freedom to all Ugandans.
Although the Electoral Commission required only 50 signatures, 84 supporters had already registered at the FDC offices along Rubabo Road, with more registrations expected from sub-counties.
