A couple of parents from Kazinga cell in Nyarushanje subcounty are raising concerns and outcries, calling upon the leaders and the security, complaining about the influenced escape of some of their schooling girl children who’re suspected to have joined prostitution and working in bars.

A couple of parents in Nyarushanje subcounty have come to raise concerns calling the security and leaders to intervene and help them to recover some of their schooling girl children who have been influenced by some individual to abandon schools and homes and join prostitution in Rubaare T/C, Ntungamo district.

Speaking with Boona Radio, the Kazinga cell LC1 chairperson Mr. Nebye Willy reported that some parents around the area have reached out to his office reporting the deliberate escape of their schooling girl children who’re suspected to have been convinced and guided by a fellow girl from the area who escaped one year ago and joined prostitution, working as a bar attendant in Rubaare Town Council in Ntungamo district.

Mr. Willy mentioned the suspected girl to be behind this is called Agnes Amumpeire aged around 18–20 years, an orphan who stopped her studies in P.3 class and has been living with her grandmother as her guardian. He added that since the last time she went to work, whenever she comes back she convinces other schooling young girls to escape and go with her to find jobs in Rubaare town although their parents know nothing about this and have never liked it.

According to Willy as the area chairperson, Agnes has already influenced five schooling girls so far. However, the information leaked that she makes them escape on Sundays when their parents are in church worshipping.

Winnie Nshemereirwe, a guardian and a grandmother of the accused Agnes Amumpeire confirmed that her grandchild developed poor behavior, abandoned education and joined prostitution instead of working on self-developmental work. She expressed her heartbreak and disappointment towards the girl she raised for causing harm to neighborhood residents, therefore calling her to return those schooling children or else be arrested by the police and sent behind bars in prison.

Some of the affected parents whose girl children escaped from schools and homes, led by Mr. Juuku Julius and Mrs. Justine Mpamizo, broke into tears saying that his girl child was going to join primary seven class at the age of 19 but misfortune came through Agnes who influenced her to abandon home and education, join prostitution and work in bars. However according to the leaked information they’ve been getting from strangers, those children are suspected to be working in Rubaare but they exactly don’t know the place.

Meanwhile, the outgoing Nyarushanje LC3 Chairperson Mr. Michael Musiime has broken silence about the issue saying that he doesn’t know anything. However he has urged the affected parents to partner with the LC1 chairperson and visit his office at the subcounty together with the OC station, pledging to connect with the Rubaare OC Station police to arrest those girls and return them back home.
