Bushenyi District Chairman Jafari Basajjabalaba, speaking on Thursday, urged parents to actively support their children’s learning journey. He expressed concern that some parents in certain schools have shifted their responsibilities onto teachers, thereby impeding the educational progress of their children.

Addressing attendees as the chief guest during a thanksgiving ceremony at Parental Care Nursery Primary School in Bushenyi, following their outstanding performance in the recently released 2023 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), Basajjabalaba pledged the District Council’s recognition of Parental Care School for its remarkable achievements in the education sector.

Elivadah Nshemerirwe, the school director, attributed the school’s success to its conducive learning environment and positive relationships.

Reverend Canon Didas Natweta, the Archdeacon of Bushenyi Greater Archdeaconry, emphasized the importance of hard work and readiness to face future challenges, stating that success awaits those who are prepared to embrace it. He encouraged both pupils and teachers to cultivate discipline and early preparation for future success.

Perez Basiime, the headteacher of Parental Care School in Bushenyi, expressed pride in the school’s impressive results over the past two years.

Since becoming a UNEB center in 2009, Parental Care School has a total of 701 pupils, with 240 achieving Division One and only 43 students attaining Division Two in the recent examinations.
