One person died on the spot when was involved in a road motor accident that occurred on Sunday 13the August 2023 at About 02:30 pm at Kasooni village, Kisiizi Parish in Nyarushanje sub-county Rukungiri district along Nyarushanje Kisiizi road, involving motor vehicle reg no.UAU 445D Isuzu Elef blue in color.
The deceased is one Akanyamba Kato Joseph 23 years old the driver and a resident of Butungwa LC1, Kisiizi Parish Nyarushanje sub-county Rukungiri district.
It’s alleged that, while the said Motor vehicle which was loaded with bags of cement (100 bags) was coming from the side of Nyarushanje Trading Center heading to Kisiizi direction, upon reaching Kasooni village, it lost control and hit a eucalyptus tree due to speed as explained by the passenger on the same vehicle and eyewitnesses, leaving the driver dead on spot.
The two passengers on board didn’t sustain any injuries.
Police were notified, the scene was visited by Cpl Oketayot Micheal and the party, the body was taken to for postmortem at Kisiizi Hospital mortuary, the bags of cement were handed over to the owner and the wreckage towered to Kisiizi Police Post for custody pending IOV inspection.
The Primary cause of the accident was speed.
