The Police in Kabale district are hunting for the driver of an unidentified vehicle that knocked dead a 31-year-old pedal cyclist.
ASP Elly Maate the Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson identifies the deceased as pedal cyclist Niwagaba Boaz, a resident of Nyabikoni village, Northern division in Kabale municipality.
Niwagaba who died on spot is a son to Troy Jackson, a resident of same area.
Maate explains that the accident occurred on 15th October 2022 at around 11:30pm at Mwanjari along Kabale-Katuna highway in Kabale district.
Police visited the scene and retrieved the body and conveyed it to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem examination.
Maate adds that the cause of the accident has not yet been established adding that the bicycle was taken to CPS Kabale as efforts to establish the motor vehicle involved are being made.
The case of fatal hit and run accident has since been registered at Kabale CPS under reference number TAR 107/2022.
