Police in Rukungiri is hunting for unknown assailants who assaulted a 45-year-old Africano Katungi to death.
The deceased is a resident of Kakanyenye cell Karuhembe parish Kebisoni Sub County Rukungiri District.
According to Elly maate the Kigezi region Police spokesperson, Katungi was last seen This morning at around 1:30AM as he left a bar belonging to Kintu John Bosco which is oparated by Kyomuhendo Christine at Mabanga trading center
The deceased reportedly took the direction of his home at Kakanyenye cell.
He was waylaid by unknown assailants who assaulted him, tied him with a black cloth around the neck and dragged him up to a farm belonging to Kesukule Charles where the body was discovered this morning .
The incident was reported to Mabanga Police by Nabasa Superior, a resident of Rigyencwa cell, who says he , heard a scuffle alongside the road which continued up to the farm behind his home,
Scene was visited and documented; body taken to Rwakabengo health center mortuary for postmortem.
Maate says one suspect identified as Tumuranzye Alex was arrested to assist police in investigations.
