As Christians across Africa gear up for the 2025 Uganda Martyrs Day pilgrimage, individuals and communities are offering support to ensure a smooth journey for the faithful.

In Ntungamo town, Tusasiirwe Grace Masanyu of Keisho Masanyu Hotel has pledged to provide meals, drinks, and bathing water to all pilgrims passing through the area. She says her support will be coordinated with pilgrims’ leaders to ensure efficiency and order during the pilgrimage.

Pilgrims from the Kigezi region and parts of Ankole are among those expected to benefit from this act of generosity.

The 2025 pilgrimage is set to culminate on Tuesday, June 3, at the Namugongo shrines in Kampala. The event commemorates 45 Christian converts—22 Catholic and 23 Anglican—who were martyred between 1885 and 1887 for their faith.

Pilgrims from across Uganda and neighboring countries are expected to start their spiritual journey in late May to ensure arrival in time for the celebrations.
