Mr. Kenneth Baabo, the Diocesan Education Coordinator, alongside secondary school head teachers, on Saturday released the 2024 Diocesan Mock Exam Results for Senior Four and Senior Six candidates.
According to Mr. Baabo, the primary objective of the mock exams was to familiarize students with the new curriculum’s questioning techniques and answering strategies, as well as to refresh teachers as they approach this critical period.
Mr. Mukunzi Denis Nyehangane, head teacher of Nyakagyeme Secondary School and Chairman of the Academic Committee, reported that Senior Four candidates were graded according to the UNEB O-level grading system, which classifies students as Accomplished, Moderate, or Basic. The exams were set to UNEB standards across almost all subjects, with English being the highest-performing subject and Mathematics the lowest.
Rev. Andrew Kananura, representing the Diocesan Secretary as the guest of honor, commended the head teachers for their relentless efforts in developing the schools under the North Kigezi Diocese. He urged them to intensify their efforts to achieve better results in the upcoming final examinations for both A and O levels.
Rev. Kananura emphasized that headship involves not just leading from the top but also acting as a shield for their respective schools.
The official release of the results took place at Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasano in the Western Division of Rukungiri Municipality.
