The territorial police in Rubanda are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the demise of Christopher Tushabirane, a 22-year-old resident of Rwamajongo cell in Igomanda parish, Hamurwa sub-county, Rubanda district. His lifeless body was discovered this morning in a trench near the swamp of Kashekyera trading center in Kashekyera cell.
According to reports, on December 21, 2023, at approximately 07:00hrs, a 58-year-old woman named Sunday Benadet, while on her way to the garden, stumbled upon the lifeless body of a male in the trench at the scene, prompting her to notify the chairperson. Subsequently, the chairperson, accompanied by other locals, identified the body as that of Christopher Tushabirane, the son of Ahimbisibwe Godfrey, with multiple wounds on his head.
The victim’s father, Ahimbisibwe Godfrey, alerted the police, leading to the initiation of inquiries. The crime scene was visited, documented, and a postmortem examination was conducted on-site. The body was then handed over to the relatives for burial.
Preliminary information suggests that Christopher Tushabirane was reputed as a serial thief in the area. Investigations are ongoing, and concerted efforts are being made to apprehend those involved so that they can be held accountable for their actions.
