Two individuals have been apprehended by authorities in Bushenyi District on charges of murder. Marcial Tumusiime, the spokesperson for the Greater Bushenyi Police, confirmed the incident. The victim has been identified as Emmanuel Katwesigye, a 23-year-old casual worker residing in Katerero One village, Buyanja Parish, Kyeizooba Sub-county in Bushenyi District.
Reportedly, on April 15, 2024, at approximately 8:00 a.m., Musimenta, a pupil and the son of Bwamukwaya Charles discovered Katwesigye’s body along a footpath about 200 meters from the deceased’s residence while on his way to school. Musimenta promptly returned home to inform his father, who then contacted the GISO about the situation. The matter was subsequently reported to the authorities at Mwengura Police Post.
Tumusiime stated that the deceased’s body was transported to Kampala International Teaching Hospital for postmortem examination, and investigations are currently underway.
