Financial institutions and organizations are being praised for consistently promoting employees based on their integrity and performance in their respective roles. Gregory Nahabwe, the Chairman of LCIII Rwashamaire Town Council, believes that such recognition will serve as encouragement and motivation for others to excel in their duties with the aim of securing promotions.

Mayor Nahabwe expressed these sentiments on Thursday during the year-end ceremony of Muntuyera Co-operative Savings and Credit Society Limited Rwashamaire. The event saw the closure of the year and the acknowledgment of the Best Performing Members in terms of savings and the effective use of loans obtained from the cooperative.

The distribution of Christmas hampers and gift packages (Ekiterekye) occurred at the SACCO’s headquarters in Rwashamaire Town Council, Kajara County, Ntungamo District. Mayor Nahabwe extended his gratitude to the board members and staff for recognizing the achievements of the SACCO’s top performers, emphasizing the positive impact on their development.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors, Muntuyera SACCO Rwashamaire, Rev Nahoora Benson, assured both staff and members that the tradition of rewarding top performers with Christmas hampers and gift packages (Ekiterekye) would be upheld. He commended the staff, led by Kwarisiima Agnes, for their timely implementation of the SACCO’s plans and projects, highlighting the importance of saving with Muntu SACCO for sustainable development.

Rev Nahoora encouraged both the best performers and those who fell short of their targets to increase their savings and actively engage others to join the SACCO, ensuring that they could also benefit from the annual Christmas hampers and gift packages (Ekiterekye).

The Manager of Muntuyera SACCO Rwashamaire, Kwarisiima Agnes, explained that the purpose of the reward package was to recognize members for their contributions to the SACCO’s growth through savings and mobilizing new members for credit schemes. She advised members to continue saving responsibly, especially during the festive season, considering upcoming expenses such as school fees in January.

Representing the beneficiaries, Abert Musinguzi expressed appreciation for the acknowledgment of the best-performing members, recognizing their dedication to using loans and saving to achieve prosperity. He urged SACCO members to leverage the cooperative’s opportunities to enhance their livelihoods.

Edridah Bindibona and Dr. Nabaasa James of Ntungamo Medical Specialist Clinic Rwashamaire emerged as the best overall performers, receiving goats and hampers. The Very Rev Canon Cranmer Mwesigwa, the Dean of St. Matthew’s Cathedral Kyamate, and Rev Canon James Ndyanabo Rutaraka, the vetting chairperson, were among the dignitaries who blessed the meeting.

In total, 32 members received Christmas gifts and incentives, including goats, chickens, and hampers.
