Police in Bushenyi District are currently investigating an incident in which unidentified assailants robbed a businessman at gunpoint. Marcial Tumusiime, the spokesperson for the Greater Bushenyi Police, confirmed the occurrence and identified the victim as Enock Muhereza, a 40-year-old resident of Nshozi Cell, Ward One, Nyakabirizi Division, Busheny-Ishaka Municipality in Bushenyi District.
Reportedly, on December 21, 2023, around 9:10 PM, the victim returned home from work. As his wife opened the door for him, two men, one of whom was armed with a gun, confronted him and forcibly took his bag containing approximately 700,000. Despite the wife raising an alarm, the assailants remained unperturbed and only fled after completing their robbery.
Milton Mwijukye, a 52-year-old businessman residing at the mentioned address, reported the incident to the police. He clarified that the victim did not sustain any physical injuries, and he was unsure about the exact amount of money stolen.
