Honorable Prossy Akampurira Begumisa Mbabazi, the Woman Member of Parliament for Rubanda District, has expressed her excitement about being re-appointed as a Commissioner of Parliament. She believes that this re-appointment has the potential to significantly improve service delivery.

Honorable Akampurira, a member of the National Resistance Movement, is one of three MPs whose terms were renewed by the party’s top leadership and subsequently approved by their fellow Parliament members.

In a recent telephone interview with our reporter, Honorable Prossy Akampurira Begumisa Mbabazi emphasized the extended term as a Commissioner, viewing it as an opportunity to advocate for enhanced service delivery. She specifically mentioned a poverty eradication program in Rubanda District known as “Prosperous Women Rubanda,” an initiative she developed during her parliamentary commission trips abroad.

Honorable Akampurira is part of the ten-member parliamentary commission for the 11th parliament, alongside notable figures such as Rt Hon. Speaker Anita Annet Among, Rt Hon. Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa, Rt Hon. Prime Minister and Leader of Government Business Robinah Nabbanja, Leader of the Opposition in Parliament Joel Ssenyonyi, Minister of Finance, Planning, and Economic Development Matia Kasaija, Solomon Silwany, Esther Afoyochan, Mathias Mpuuga, and the Clerk to Parliament Adolf Mwesige Kasaija.
