RUKUNGIRI– Hon. Naboth Namanya, the Member of Parliament for Rubabo County, has called on religious leaders to dedicate time during church activities to mobilize relief food for victims of the recent hailstorm in their respective areas of ministry.

He made this appeal on Thursday, 26th September 2024, while addressing mourners at the funeral service of the late Benson Matsiko Twita in Kisharara Cell, Rubanga Parish, Buyanja Sub County, Rukungiri District.

Hon. Naboth Namanya emphasized that the damage caused by the hailstorm in Buyanja Sub County extends beyond individual capacity and requires government intervention. He urged church leaders to engage in efforts to mobilize relief food to prevent hunger-related deaths in the affected areas.

Agaba Emmy Rubondo, the Chairperson of LC3 Buyanja Sub County, advised mourners to refrain from judging or criticizing the circumstances of someone’s death, noting that death is inevitable as determined by the creator.

Pastor Provia Turyahabwe of Rwentuha Full Gospel Church, while assisting Pastor Kisya Kyakatonda during the service, urged women to stop isolating stepchildren, emphasizing that no religion condemns polygamy and that one can never predict which child will become useful in the future.

Januario Arinaitwe Kakooko, the LC1 Chairperson of Kisharara Cell, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of a respected community member who was known for his cooperation and love for his family.

The deceased, aged 51, reportedly took his own life and is survived by three widows and twelve children.
