Police in Bushenyi District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the murder of a 60-year-old casual worker at Bweranyangi Girls’ Secondary School.
The incident occurred during the night of September 25-26, 2024, and was reported to police on September 26, 2024.
Marcial Tumusiime, the spokesperson for Greater Bushenyi Police, confirmed the incident, which took place in the school garden of Bweranyangi Girls’ Secondary School in Bushenyi District.
The deceased has been identified as Yokoyada Musinguzi, 60, a casual worker at the school and a resident on the school premises. Musinguzi was originally from Kitojo Cell, Kitojo Ward, Sheema Central Division in Sheema District.
It is alleged that on September 26, 2024, at around 7:30 a.m., Alex Mwebesa, the school’s farm manager, discovered Musinguzi’s body lying in the middle of a path through the banana plantation.
Mwebesa immediately alerted the school headmistress, Molly Buhwairoha, who then reported the incident to the Bushenyi Police Station.
According to Tumusiime, blood was oozing from the deceased’s nose and mouth, though there were no visible physical injuries or signs of a struggle.
The body was transported to Kampala International Teaching Hospital in Ishaka for a post-mortem examination.
