Hon. Naboth Namanya, the Member of Parliament for Rubabo county, has urged Ugandans to prioritize the education of their children as a means of eliminating ignorance and fostering progress. He delivered this message today while addressing a large gathering at Emmanuel Church of Uganda parish in Mayengo cell, Kiinyogo ward, Katuna town council, Kabale district, during the funeral service for the late Moses Kamuhanda.

Moses Kamuhanda, a long-time resident of the aforementioned address, was the father of Sara Tumuhairwe, also known as Lady Sarah, a gospel singer in Rukungiri district.

Hon. Naboth stressed the significance of education, emphasizing its role in leveling the playing field among individuals of different backgrounds. He also urged mourners to refrain from unnecessary spending, highlighting its contribution to the poverty challenges faced by many in Uganda.

Addressing the economic conditions in Uganda, Hon. Naboth acknowledged the difficulties and encouraged people to work diligently, save money, and avoid unnecessary expenses to improve their financial situations.

According to John Bitarabeho, the brother of the deceased, Moses Kamuhanda had been diagnosed with high blood pressure in 2017. In October 2023, he experienced respiratory difficulties and sought medical attention at Mulago Heart Institute, where tests revealed extremely high blood pressure and a heart failure problem.

Rev. Johnson Byamukama, the parish priest of Emmanuel Church of Uganda, described Kamuhanda as a God-fearing man who worked hard to provide education for his children.

Moses Kamuhanda is survived by his wife, Peace Mbabazi Kamuhanda, 13 children, and 8 grandchildren.
