Hon. Bataringaya Bazil Rwankwene, Member of Parliament for Kashari North in Mbarara District, has called on teachers to embrace their responsibility by ensuring an effective and efficient teaching and learning process to improve student performance.
Bataringaya emphasized that the third term is a crucial period in the academic year, as it determines whether students progress to the next academic level.
He warned teachers who fail to dedicate enough time to teaching, instead treating class time as an opportunity to pass the time, reminding them that the Creator who granted them employment is always watching.
He also pointed out that poor student performance is often the result of such neglect, and that the Almighty could, in turn, cause the teacher’s children to suffer academically as a form of divine retribution.
Bataringaya further urged parents to prioritize their children’s education by paying school fees and providing necessary school supplies on time, ensuring a smooth teaching and learning process without disruptions.
