Muslim leaders from eleven mosques in Kashari North County under the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council have received food items and boxes of soap as gifts in celebration of Eid al-Fitr.
The food items were donated by the Member of Parliament for Kashari North, Mbarara District, Hon. Bataringaya Bazil Rwankwene. He called upon the Muslim leaders to continue mobilizing the Muslim community to support President Yoweri Museveni and the NRM government.
He also urged the public to uphold the NRM policy of freedom of worship, encouraging respect among all religious denominations.
Hon. Bataringaya noted that the roadmap for NRM political campaigns is out and urged the public to support President Museveni for his achievements, particularly in maintaining peace and stability in Uganda and neighboring countries.
The County Sheikh of Kariro Mosque, Hamada Mbazira, appreciated MP Bataringaya Bazil for the donation and for recognizing the importance of the services offered by Muslim leaders.
He also thanked the MP for supporting Kariro Mosque by funding improvements such as painting the mosque and enhancing its visibility.
In response to a request from the Kashari County Sheikh to improve the road leading to the mosque, MP Bataringaya Bazil promised to engage the Mbarara District Local Government to work on the road, which also connects to Kariro Muslim Primary School.
