The Ministry of Education and Sports has donated 17 computers, a printer, and a projector to Seseme Girls’ Secondary School to strengthen information technology and science studies in Kisoro District.

During the handover, Mathius Mugenyi, a technician from EBA Business Solutions, the company that was contracted to supply and install the equipment, said that the donation is part of the Uganda Secondary Education Expansion Project (USEEP). This initiative supports the training of science teachers for the new secondary school curriculum, who will in turn transfer knowledge to students.

Peace Ruzaza, the school head teacher of Seseme Girls’ Secondary, commended the Ministry for its support. She, however, highlighted the ongoing challenge of inadequate ICT resources, noting that more than ten students share a single computer during IT lessons.

Ruzaza added that the new computers would not only benefit students but also provide community training opportunities during holidays. She urged students to use the computers responsibly, warning against wasting time on movies and TikTok.
