Minister Musasizi Henry, the State Minister for Finance in charge of general duties and Chairperson of the NRM in Rubanda district, extended his congratulations to Christians and the Parish Priest of Kishanje Parish in Kabale Diocese, Rev Fr. Ireneus Tibemanya. This congratulatory message was delivered during the thanksgiving ceremony commemorating the 25th anniversary of Kishanje Catholic Parish’s establishment in 1998 under Kabale Diocese.
During the event, a fundraising drive was organized, raising over shillings 47 million for the construction of priests’ residences, estimated to cost over shs 700 million. Minister Musasizi contributed ten million shillings in cash to support the cause.
In his address, Minister Musasizi emphasized that the creation of Rubanda district aimed to bring services closer to the people, fostering stronger relationships and teamwork for development. He also announced plans, in collaboration with the central government, to tarmac the road from Katuna Muko and around Lake Bunyonyi, along with providing a ferry.
Regarding infrastructure, Musasizi disclosed government plans to upgrade Bufundi Health Center Three to Health Center Four and construct a modern district community hospital in the financial year 2024/2025, with a budget of shillings 18 billion.
Touching on political matters, Musasizi cautioned against making unnecessary changes without considering past achievements. Meanwhile, Rev Fr. Ireneus Tibemanya, the Parish Priest of Kishanje, expressed gratitude to the Kabale Diocese bishops for entrusting and assigning him to serve the people of God, acknowledging the support of fellow clergy in maintaining his commitment to his vocation.
