Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, the Minister of ICT and National Guidance and MP for Kinkizi East demonstrated his support for the Rugoma Catholic Church in Itembezo by contributing to a fundraising event to expand the church and complete the catechist’s residential house.
Represented by his wife, Fosca Baryomunsi, the minister underscored his commitment to the community’s spiritual and social development.
Mrs. Fosca Baryomunsi, who represented the minister at the event, actively participated in the auction, purchasing food and animal items presented during Thanksgiving by the Christian community. Her generosity was highlighted as she bought these items at double the usual price and donated most to church members and children.
In her address, Fosca Baryomunsi encouraged the Christians to serve God with goodwill and assured them that Minister Baryomunsi is dedicated to working with everyone to uplift the standards of Kinkizi East. She emphasized the minister’s commitment to collaborating with the government to enhance the livelihoods of all regional families.
Fosca Baryomunsi contributed 1.5 million shillings to the cause, and the fundraising event successfully collected a total of 5 million shillings.
Sostin Mugisha, a seminarian serving at Makiro Parish, urged the Christians to love each other and serve God genuinely, emphasizing that serving God yields no losses. He thanked the community for their support in the development of the church and their dedication to God’s servants.
