Minister of ICT and National Guidance, Hon. Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, has extended significant support to Kihanda Sub-county, Kinkizi East constituency households. During his visit to Bujerenje Cell, Dr. Baryomunsi distributed hoes to local farmers, aiming to enhance subsistence farming in the area.
In his address, Dr. Baryomunsi emphasized that the donation of hoes was not merely for agricultural use but also intended to educate the community on effectively utilizing government funds under the Parish Development Model (PDM) to drive socio-economic transformation. He highlighted his commitment to working closely with the government to improve various services, including health, education, infrastructure, and youth skills development through community partnerships.
Davis Asimwe, the LC3 Chairperson for Kihanda Sub-county, praised the minister for his generosity and urged the community to adopt effective agricultural practices to boost their income and contribute to their families’ economic development. Dr. Baryomunsi also pledged to collaborate with the government to upgrade Kihanda Health Centre II to a Health Centre IV to enhance healthcare services.
Ruth Asimwe Munkunde, the area councilor for Kihanda Sub-county, expressed gratitude to the minister and called on residents to show their support in the upcoming 2024 elections. Emmy Magezi, the Assistant RDC for Kanungu District, cautioned against corruption in the implementation of government programs and warned of legal consequences for those involved in corrupt practices.
The community and local leaders in Kihanda Subcounty affirmed their strong commitment to supporting Dr. Baryomunsi’s initiatives and expressed their dedication to advancing the development of their area. The minister’s visit has fostered a lasting bond of cooperation and optimism for future improvements, including the construction of churches, schools, hospitals, and other essential services.
