The Minister of State for Trade, Industry, and Cooperatives, Honorable David Bahati, has conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the victims of a devastating downpour that wreaked havoc in Kitumba Sub County, Kabale District last Evening.
This calamity destroyed numerous homes, crops, roads, and tragically, the loss of a child (still Missing).
The torrential rains struck in the evening hours of Wednesday, casting the residents of Kanyankwanzi Village in Bukora Parish into despair as they desperately searched for a child who had been swept away by the powerful floods.
The victim has been identified as Pearl Amumpeire, a nursery student at Kanyankwanzi Primary School in Bukora Parish, Kitumba Sub County.
Minister Bahati, who also serves as a Member of Parliament for the Ndorwa East in Kabale district region, took to his Twitter handle last Evening to express his sympathy.
He assured the public that relevant government agencies had been notified and that every effort was being made to provide urgently needed assistance.
Minister Bahati also commended the first responders who had rallied to support the affected communities. He urged the public to exercise caution during this rainy season.
