The police in Bushenyi District are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the murder of a middle-aged man, allegedly by unidentified assailants, who also robbed his motorcycle.
The incident occurred on the night of February 12, 2024, at an unspecified time, in Kyeitebe West Central Division, within the Ishaka Municipality of Bushenyi District.
Macial Tumusiime, the spokesperson for the Greater Bushenyi Police, confirmed the incident. He identified the victim as Norman Naturinda, a motorcycle taxi rider operating at GAZ Stage, and a resident of Ryamizingo village, Rushinya Parish, Kakanju Sub-County, Bushenyi District.
It is believed that the deceased was targeted for his recently purchased motorcycle, although the specific license plate number has not yet been determined.
John Nyabugaro, aged 64 and the Chairman of the Local Council (LCI) of Kyeitembe West, reported the case to the police. He mentioned observing a trail leading from the road to where the body was found, approximately 100 meters away.
Tumusiime noted that there were signs of strangulation around the victim’s neck, with no other apparent physical injuries on the body.
Additionally, Tumusiime mentioned that the deceased’s body was transported to Kampala International Teaching Hospital for further examination pending a postmortem analysis.
