The head teacher of Kyabugashe High School, Mr. Alvas Arinaitwe, has challenged men to always fulfill their responsibilities both in their homes and in the church if there is to be continuity of the church and peace in homes.

He said this while preaching during the St. Peter’s Day celebration service at Rwamagabo Church of Uganda in Munyeganyegye Parish, Nyakagyeme Archdeaconry, North Kigezi Diocese.

He noted that most men don’t show up for church activities, yet God is for both men and women.

He challenged parents to be exemplary to their children, noting that most children behave according to their parents’ behaviors.

Turyazayo David Kapiira, the head of laity of Rwamagabo Church of Uganda, said that as Christian men, they commemorate St. Peter because of his good example in the beginning of the church.

He mentioned that the Peter’s Day celebrations were aimed at raising funds to support the ongoing project of constructing the lay reader’s house at this church.

He stated that the current lay reader’s house at this church is dilapidated, and there is a need for a better house.

Rev. Obed Tumwebaze, the priest for Munyeganyegye Parish, challenged men to love their wives and work together with them for the development and growth of their children.

Speaking on behalf of the Rukungiri Woman Legislator, Hon. Medius Kagarama, Mr. Mugarura Benard Kaharaata challenged men to prioritize development in their homes by responding positively to government poverty-eradication programs like PDM for development.

Over 2 million Ugandan shillings were collected, in addition to 28 bags of cement and 10 iron sheets.
