Police in Bushenyi District are investigating the circumstances under which a 30-year-old man was killed by a mob in Kishore LC1, Kyabugimbi Sub-County, Bushenyi District.
Marcial Tumusiime, the Greater Bushenyi Police spokesperson, confirmed the incident and identified the deceased as Joab Kanyesigye, alias Tutti, a 30-year-old peasant from Kiboona “A” LC1, Kyabugimbi Sub-County.
According to reports, on December 9, 2024, at around 7:00 a.m., the deceased was lynched by an angry mob in Kishore LC1 on allegations of stealing motorcycles. The mob reportedly burned his body using jerrycans.
Tumusiime stated that a preliminary examination at the scene revealed the deceased had sustained severe head injuries that shattered his skull.
The body was transported to the mortuary at Kyabugimbi Health Centre IV for a postmortem before being handed over to relatives for burial.
