Police in Isingiro District is hunting for one Ndyanabo Yowasi a peasant and resident of Bugongi cell Kihiihi parish Nyakitunda sub-county who hacked his wife Kyokusiima Marion aged 30 years and their two-year-old daughter to death on Tuesday at an unknown time and later called his relatives at around 10:00 pm of the night to inform them of the act he had committed
According to Samson Kasasira the Rwizi police spokesperson, a search for the bodies was conducted on the following day and the bodies were recovered in a banana plantation near Nyakitunda Secondary school.
The preliminary investigations state that the cause of the act was a misunderstanding between the couple that had previously forced the deceased to leave her marital home back to her parents due to domestic violence only to be convinced by the suspect to return home on a fateful day.
The scene of the crime was examined and the bodies were conveyed to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital mortuary for postmortem
The suspect is still at large but efforts to have him apprehended are ongoing.
