Police in Kabale are investigating the suspected murder of a 24-year-old casual laborer whose body was discovered early this morning along a road in Igabiro Cell, Mwanjari Ward, Southern Division, Kabale Municipality.
The deceased, identified as Timothy Kamugisha, a resident of Kabale Municipality, was reportedly last seen on Monday, August 11, 2025, at the bar of a woman identified as Docus Akampurira, where he was a regular customer.
According to police, Kamugisha arrived at the bar already drunk and was not served alcohol. He is said to have taken a drink from friends, after which he became dizzy. Bar workers reportedly carried him outside and placed him on the veranda to recover.
At around midnight, patrons and staff left for their homes, closing the bar and leaving Kamugisha on the veranda. At about 6:40 a.m. today, his lifeless body was found lying along the road.
Police visited and documented the scene before transporting the body to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital for a postmortem examination.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson ASP Elly Maate confirmed the incident and said investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding Kamugisha’s death.
