KISORO-Police in Kisoro district are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a 73 year- old-Man identified as Jackson Mukungu, a resident of Buhayo village, Mbuga parish, Nyakinama sub-county in Kisoro district.

According to the police report, the deceased on Sunday spent the whole day drinking Mkomboti and waragi together with his son in Kiseke trading center.

Police reports also indicate that later the deceased bought pork and informed his son that he was going to prepare some food for himself. 

According to Elly Mate the Kigezi region police Spokesperson, on reaching home, the deceased did not prepare food but rather returned to the same trading center and continued drinking more waragi.

Maate also says that on Monday morning, the son Habimana Vincent received information that his father was lying dead in the middle of Kamonyi – Nyetete road in Bugwene village.

Maate noted that the matter was reported to the police, the scene was visited and documented, and the body was taken to Kisoro Hospital mortuary for Postmortem.

Inquiries are ongoing.
