Police in Bushenyi District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 52-year-old man in a fatal accident.
The accident occurred on November 15, 2024, at 6:40 PM in Kizinda-Kigoma along the Ishaka-Kasese road. It involved a white Toyota Corona, registration number UAQ 090R, and a red Bajaj Boxer motorcycle, registration number UFD 066U.
Greater Bushenyi Police Spokesperson, Marcial Tumusiime, confirmed the incident and identified the deceased as Luciano Baguma, a 52-year-old farmer and resident of Swazi III, Kyamuhunga Sub County, Bushenyi District.
According to reports, the Toyota Corona, driven by Bernard Tumusiime, 55, a lecturer at Bishop Stuart University Mbarara and resident of Katete, Nyamutanga, Mbarara City, was traveling from the Kasese direction when it collided head-on with the motorcycle coming from the opposite side.
Marcial Tumusiime stated that the victim was rushed to Kampala International Teaching Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
