Local leaders from Nyeibingo Parish in Kebisoni Sub County, Rukungiri District, are advocating for the upgrade of Bikungu Health Center 2 to Health Center 3 to improve service delivery. They have decided to petition district authorities for this upgrade following a recent Parish Council meeting held at Kebisoni Seed Secondary School.
During the meeting, Jackline Tumuhimbise highlighted several challenges facing the health center, including insufficient staff, lack of electricity and fencing, and a shortage of water. She emphasized that these issues could be addressed with the center’s upgrade.
Frank Arinaitwe Mabwa, the Area Sub County Councilor and Vice Chairperson of LC3 Kebisoni Sub County expressed optimism about receiving the upgrade. He noted that the health center has sufficient land for expansion, which was recently demarcated and is pending a land title.
George Byaruhanga Ruraka, the Chairperson of the health center management committee, reiterated the commitment to seek the upgrade to enhance the center’s ability to provide reliable services.
Peace Asiimwe Kashaku, the Vice Chairperson of LC2 Nyeibingo Parish, and Edward Byamugisha, a retired head teacher, called for the necessary procedural documents to be prepared for the upgrade request.
