Theophilas Tibihika, the Lira City Council Clerk, tragically lost his life in a fatal accident on Monday morning, May 27th, 2024, along the Kwania-Apac road.

The accident occurred around 6:30 am as Tibihika was driving a double-cabin Hilux pickup with the registration number UAM 450V.

Tibihika was reportedly on his way to Kampala when the accident occurred. While details about the crash are still emerging, initial reports suggest that Tibihika may have lost control of the vehicle, leading to the fatal incident.

Lira City Mayor Sam Atul confirmed Tibihika’s death and was present at the scene of the accident on Aduku Road at the time of the press release.

Mayor Atul expressed profound sorrow and extended condolences to Tibihika’s family and friends, emphasizing Tibihika’s dedicated service to the Lira City Council.

The loss of Theophilas Tibihika is a significant blow to the Lira community, where he was known for his commitment to improving the city’s administrative functions.

As investigations into the accident continue, the community mourns the untimely death of this respected public servant. Tibihika also served as a council clerk in Rukungiri Municipality, Mbarara City, Fort Portal, and Kasese Municipalities.
