Residents of Katwe Kamwe cell, Rwentondo Ward, Eastern Division, Rukungiri Municipality were yesterday Monday 13th Sept 2022 shocked after one of their own was struck dead by lightning
The deceased was identified as Brenda Katusiiime, wife to Cosmas Muhumuza of the same area, a nursery teacher at Rutojo Nursery School.
An Eye witness Ambrose Bwanshuna who spoke to our reporter narrated how he visited the school to check on some pupils,
He says he was sitting with the deceased teacher on the same bench when lightning struck.
Bwanshuna says he only recovered his senses after a few minutes and realized that the teacher he was talking to had collapsed and was breathing her last
He asked pupils to call people from the nearby Katwe Kamwe trading center to come to their rescue but the deceased breathed her last just a few minutes later.
Her body was collected by relatives for burial arrangements
