Isaac Mucunguzi Rushoga, the LC.3 Chairperson for the Northern Division in Kabale Municipality, has issued a warning to the Enumerators of the 2024 National Population and Housing Census about the risks of alcohol consumption while on duty.

Rushoga delivered this caution yesterday during the send-off ceremony for 28 enumerators and their six supervisors at the Division headquarters in Kabale Municipality. He emphasized that alcohol consumption could impair their ability to focus on their assigned tasks, urging them to remain sober during fieldwork.

Additionally, Rushoga advised against nighttime operations with the government-provided census tools to avoid potential robbery incidents. He also stressed the importance of dressing appropriately, particularly for female enumerators.

The event marked the conclusion of a nine-day training program for the enumerators on conducting the 2025 census, scheduled from May 9 to May 20, 2024. Chairman Rushoga distributed appointment letters from the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) to each enumerator, emphasizing their importance as both identification and legal proof of employment by the Government of Uganda for the short-term appointment.

As outlined in the appointment letters, enumerators will receive a daily payment of Ugandan Shillings 50,000 for the duration of the ten-day census fieldwork.
