Kyatoko Primary School in Kyatoko Ward, Rukungiri Municipality, held a Thanksgiving service at Kyatoko Church of Uganda to celebrate the success of last year’s Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE). The event was marked by joy and motivation as the school’s Old Boys (OBs) and Old Girls (OGs) gifted pupils in recognition of their outstanding performance.
Rev. Edsoni Ampeire, the parish priest of Kyatoko Church of Uganda, led the service and expressed gratitude to God for the school’s excellent results. In his sermon, he encouraged pupils in lower classes to respect their teachers, parents, and elders, assuring them that obedience would bring blessings and success in all aspects of life.
Fortunate Aijuka, the best performer in last year’s PLE with an impressive aggregate of nine, expressed her appreciation to the school administration for their unwavering support. She also extended gratitude for the gifts received and thanked parents who would wake up early to escort them to school in the morning darkness.
The guest of honor, Isaiah Tinkyimulekura, the Inspector of Schools for Rukungiri Municipal Council, commended the school administration, OBs, and OGs for recognizing and rewarding the top-performing pupils. He assured the school of continued support from the office of the Municipal Education Officer and encouraged this year’s Primary Seven candidates to work hard to achieve similar success in 2025.
Fawusta Rubagangala, an old girl from Kyatoko Primary School, spoke on behalf of the alumni. She praised the pupils for their dedication and noted that the gifts served as motivation for them to maintain their hard work while also inspiring those in lower classes to strive for excellence.
Headteacher Ahumuza Samuel Besimbire applauded the 2024 candidates for their commendable performance. Out of 35 pupils who sat for the PLE, six attained first grade, while 29 secured second grade. He also thanked the OBs and OGs for their generosity in awarding gifts and certificates, urging the current Primary Seven pupils to work even harder for outstanding results.
