The construction of Kyaburere Primary School in Bugangari Sub County, Rukungiri District faced delays, with the initial start date set for October 17th, 2023.
However, the construction work commenced later on December 30th, 2023. The project, undertaken by Kinombe Nyaruzinga Construction Company Limited, involves the construction of a two-room block at a contract price of 95,362,172 shillings.
Kyaburere Primary School is a government institution affiliated with the Catholic Church, providing education from primary to primary seven. This construction marks the first government-funded building for the school, generating optimism among parents, such as Mr. Welly Musiimenta from Kyaburere village. He expressed satisfaction with the promising progress shown by the contractors, indicating hope for the prompt return of students to school.
The director of Kinombe Nyaruzinga Construction Company Limited, Mr. Godfrey Shabire, explained the delay, citing heavy rainfall as a hindrance that pushed the start date to December 30th, 2023.
Despite the setback, Mr. Nshabire assured the community that the construction would be completed within one and a half months, ensuring readiness for students on the resumption day.
Additionally, Mr. Nshabire has been awarded another contract for the construction of Rwamagaya Primary School in Ruhinda Sub County, Rukungiri District.
This project involves building three classrooms at a contract price of 145,182,480 shillings. Commencing work on October 30th, 2023, Mr. Nshabire anticipates completing the project ahead of schedule, assuring that students will be able to return on the specified reporting day.
