The Kisoro district Council has passed a resolution to re-open the Hope Mission Uganda church based in Rubuguri Town Council in Kisoro district to enable believers to celebrate Christmas.

Hope Mission Church has been under key and lock following an order by the State House and the office of the Kisoro Resident District Commissioner.

The church that is set to re-open  tomorrow Sunday 25th December 2022 on Christmas day was closed following unresolved conflicts between Bishop Kiiza Aloysius and the Romanian investors.

The church predominantly serves the Batwa as well as the entire community.

The Romanian investors, who have managed to construct a children’s home, a primary school and a hospital  has asked  for protection from the Government against threats from Bishop Kiiza’s team.

Kisoro district Chief Administrative officer Hajji Badru Mayanja confirmed the development following a decision by the district councillors.

Mayanja says that he strongly believes that if Court does not intervene, they are ready to have the church re-open this Christmas so that the people who have been praying outside can use the church.

Rubuguri Town Council LCV councillor Deus Byamugisha said it was high time for the people of Rubuguri to be given justice. He said the district is committed to solving any problem arising in Rubuguri town council.
